PiLog Master Data Record Manager (MDRM)
The PiLog MDRM system is a multi-domain, multi-lingual solution to create and maintain all the master data records of an organization in a single installation.
One of the primary functions is that of Item Entry Control for Master Data elements such as Item or Material Masters, Service Masters and Vendor Masters. MDRM controls and filters all data entry, structure and normalization during the process of creating rich text descriptions for the items that it is identifying.
Standard governance processes specific to master data creations, changes , extensions (business extension from the corporate master or golden record) , blocking/restrictions (ie block on an ERP transaction such as a payment) , deletion and archiving are available to manage the complete life cycle of the master data record.
MDRM also contains a powerful search engine that utilizes algorithms, such as fuzzy logic, stemming, synonyms and searches on nested / associated data elements to find master data items. Searches are embedded in the governance processes to ensure new duplicate item requests are not introduced into the system.
PiLog Master Data Ontology Manager (MDOM)
The primary function of the PiLog™ Master Data Ontology Manager is to allow users to create and maintain the client corporate dictionary, data requirement statements and classification structures. Managing the corporate dictionary is key for the best practice of master data management. Ontology is the Meta data for the creation of new master data.
Each data requirement can be seen as a data entry form to create master data, containing all the data quality rules (masks, regular expressions, data types) to guarantee quality data. Each data requirement is associated with a class and the properties (fields) that are used to describe the class. For example, the material class "bearing" would be described using the properties, interior diameter, outer diameter and width. The service class "clean floor" would be described using the property, floor material.
Data requirements can be nested to provide complex data structures. Data quality Meta data (masks, data types, regular expressions) can be pre-defined in the data requirement statements. The Meta data is interpreted and enforced by the Item Entry control functionality of MDRM. Multiple data types are available that cover any data domains (accounts, cost centers, customers, addresses, vendors, materials...).
PiLog Master Data Acquisition Manager (MDAM)
The PiLog MDAM Solution was built primarily to acquire, build, structure, clean and configure data, gathered during a Capital Expansion Project and then deliver this data in a format that can be easily uploaded into any operational ERP solution for further processing of transactional data.
From an Operational Data perspective, the opportunity of acquiring all the necessary data for a fully integrated ERP solution is at its highest during the project, as all the Vendors are quite possibly on-site and the contract close-out procedures can contain Master Data delivery checks and balances that will ensure the successful delivery of all relevant Procurement, Materials and Maintenance Master Data.
PiLog MDAM's Project Procurement allows the User to register all PO's placed during the acquisition phase of a capital expansion together with the list of items procured. These line items or the material take-on are then transferred to a Vendor Catalogue where they are classified and catalogued.
Items that are procured that needs to be individually identified as a result of maintenance requirements then get classified as such and transferred to the equipment schedule which forms an integral part of the asset data acquisition process. Items classified as spares then continue their path through to the Material Master to be utilized in the Bill of Material process where equipment is linked to their respective spares. This process then facilitates the inventory optimization and maintenance procurement and budgeting process within the ERP.
MDAM ensures that Functional Location Structures are created in such a way that they are conducive to serving the purpose for which they are intended, grouping plant functional processes, locating operational equipment efficiently, maintenance planning and maintenance reporting.
MDAM allows the Creation of Equipment / Asset Master, together with their relevant criticality ratings, free of duplications and with descriptions that are clear and concise to enable effective searches.
MDAM links Equipment to classes and completes technical specifications to ensure effective grouping of similar equipment, maintenance planning and reporting and optimized equipment searches.
MDAM provides for the creation of Bills of Materials for maintenance objects to facilitate effective maintenance planning, budgeting and inventory optimization and spares procurement.
Maintenance Tasks can be created and linked to the relevant maintenance object to ensure implementation maintenance working procedures, planning, budgeting, resource planning, inventory requirements and optimized availability of operational equipment.
Easy creation and linking of master data elements are made possible through the PiLog MDAM. Re-use of existing Master Data is encouraged and the integration of both materials and maintenance master data is supported throughout the acquisition process. |
