Alloy Steel contains some quantities of elements like nickel, chromium, silicon, manganese, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium and small amounts of other commonly accepted elements such as manganese, sulfur, silicon, and phosphorous except carbon. This is purely tested and verified by ASTM for better use in different industries.

They are used mostly in drilling of oil and gas from wells. These are resistant to corrosion and can be used under high temperature and pressure.
